End of Season Events

Parents,
We would like to communicate some important upcoming events to you and your families as we near the close of our season!

Free Throws for Heroes Initiative

“A basketball program must have an overriding purpose that teaches life lessons to our players beyond just winning”

Next week we will be joining hundreds of basketball programs around the state of Illinois, in conjunction with an initiative set forth by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association to raise money that will help safeguard and protect the families of fallen or disabled Illinois military, police and/or firefighters in their time of need.
We are asking each of our players to raise a mere $10 to $20 TOTAL (not per free throw) to help our program do our part in joining this initiative.  Details are being handed out at practice tonight.

Faculty Appreciation Night - Tuesday, February 9th vs. Prairie Ridge – each player will send a personal invitation to a teacher they respect and admire asking them to attend the game.

Parent’s Night - Friday, February 19th vs. Johnsburg  – players will be recognizing parents in attendance between games (Soph/Varsity in fieldhouse, Freshmen in Auxiliary Gym)

Senior Night - Friday, February 26th vs. CL South  – Seniors and their parents will be recognized prior to the start of the Varsity Warmup.

*ALSO on February 26th vs. CL South – CLC’s Student Council has partnered with a local charity organization called KIC Leukemia (founded for '91 CLC Grad Kari Imhoff-Crewe).  The week of February 22nd-26th, they are sponsoring a "Leukemia Education Week" for the entire CLC student body.  The culminating event will be an "orange-out" at our game against CLS.  PLEASE WEAR AS MUCH ORANGE AS YOU CAN TO THIS GAME!!!  In addition, Life Source will be at the game sponsoring a bone marrow registry drive for people 18+.
